Spherical Roller Bearings
Spherical roller bearings are predominantly double row roller bearings with a common sphered raceway in the outer ring. Spherical roller bearings are self-aligning making them forgiving to misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. Spherical roller bearings can handle both radial and axial loads.
The two rows of rollers allow the spherical roller bearing to carry heavy loads. Available in a wide range of ISO dimension series sizes, spherical roller bearings can often be utilized to replace other bearing types. Spherical roller bearings are also available for specialized applications, such as vibrating screens where more clearance is built in. Spherical roller bearings are available from some manufacturers with rubber seals to help reduce contamination and extend bearing life.
Spherical roller bearings are available with cylindrical or tapered bores, and can have different features such as bronze or steel retainers and with or without oil holes. Standard sizes range from 20mm (.7874) inside diameter to 1820 mm (71.6535") outside diameter. Spherical roller bearing standard series consist of: 21300, 22200, 22300, 23000, 23100, 23200, 23900, 24000, 24100.
